About Me
My name is Alexis Terry, and I’m honored to meet you. Everything I believe in — every conviction, every philosophy — was forged through the most volatile chapters of my life. I’ve battled addiction, faced homelessness, survived a gunshot to my temple, and spent time in a jail cell reflecting on who I was and who I wanted to become. Through it all, I emerged with a kind of beauty, resilience, and purpose I never imagined I could possess.
While incarcerated, I lost my grandmother and best friend — the woman who taught me how to bake and how to love people well. Honoring her legacy has become one of the driving forces of my life. I never imagined that the pound cake she taught me to make would become a path forward not just for me, but for others searching for hope, stability, and renewal. Every community God has placed on my heart is either one I’ve belonged to or one whose struggles have touched the people I love most.
I wasn’t trained in a culinary school — I was trained in my grandmother’s kitchen. She entrusted me with a recipe capable of changing opinions, opening doors, and uplifting lives. Our six-flavor pound cake isn’t just a dessert; it’s a mission.
My name means “helper,” and that’s exactly what I intend to be for the rest of my life.
